Eduardo Fernandez, Owner of Aganorsa Leaf and Casa Fernandez, has a philosophy that guides his business endeavors: “First you crawl, then you walk, and then you run. It’s a process you can’t skip or else it comes back to haunt you.” 35 years ago he created the Casa Fernandez brand. In 1998 he established Aganorsa tobacco in Nicaragua with a dream of growing some of the world’s finest tobaccos and becoming a vertically integrated manufacturer. He spent the next 15 years in pursuit of that goal and achieved it.
The Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion series started off as an inside joke with the Aganorsa team. Every time Aganorsa Experience Manager Terrence Reilly would visit a retail shop, he would take a picture of himself smoking an Aganorsa cigar with the shop employees and say he was “validating” whatever blend they were enjoying. After a while, the team at Aganorsa decided they should rebrand their core line of premium cigars, and so La Validacion was born. For this blend, it utilizes Aganorsa-grown Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos along with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. These cigars are extremely well balanced and feature tasting notes of cedar, cocoa, and cream along with hints of browned butter, cinnamon, and baked breads. These great cigars are a testament to the quality tobaccos they grow and feature the signature Aganorsa flavor and aroma in a cigar that does not overpower.
