AJ Fernandez is undoubtedly one of the most prolific cigar makers of the modern era. Raised in Cuba, he now operates 10 tobacco farms and 2 cigar factories in Nicaragua. Between these facilities, over 100,000 cigars a day are produced under his watchful eye. His true passion, and why he is able to produce such a wide variety of superior quality premium cigars, is the tobacco that he grows. The San Lotano is a special brand for AJ Fernandez. It’s the name of his family’s brand produced before the communist revolution in Cuba, the name of one of his tobacco farms in Nicaragua, and the name of his 1st release bearing his name. Before 2010 (and release of San Lotano), he had been making third-party cigars for quite some time before he branched out on his own. Though the blends and shapes of the San Lotano line have evolved over the years, the quality of the product has remained exceptional. The San Lotano Requiem Connecticut uses a blend of Nicaragua and Dominican fillers along with a Honduran binder. The blend is capped with a beautiful Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador. The blend is smooth and flavorful, featuring tasting notes of cream and cedar, with hints of sugar and vanilla. It’s a rich and pleasurable cigar!
