Alec Bradley is a pretty widely recognized name in the world of premium cigars. Most people assume it’s the name of the company’s founder, but that’s Alan Rubin, who named the brand after his sons Alec & Bradley. It’s no surprise that they ended up in the cigar business. Since they were kids, they learned to appreciate the tradition and artistry of premium cigars even before they were allowed to smoke. When they both came of age and joined the family business, they began to learn different aspects of the cigar industry. It didn’t take them too long to figure out that they wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps and become second generation cigar makers.

This is the Rubin brothers’ debut release, called Alec & Bradley Blind Faith. The name is a nod to their father Alan Rubin’s hands off approach and letting his boys create their own line from start to finish. Other than lending his palate to the blend samples, Alan allowed the brothers to navigate their way through the process on their own with minimal input. Blind Faith is made in Honduras at the Raices Cubanas factory using a blend of Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, a double binder setup featuring Honduran and Nicaraguan leaves, and is topped with a darkly colored Honduran Trojes wrapper. Tasting notes include flavors of natural tobacco, cocoa, and pepper along with hints of leather, coffee, earth, and nuts. This debut blend garnered a lot of attention when it came out a few years ago, and they have only gotten better as time progressed.
