He’s made Nicaraguan versions of almost every major Cuban brand, and now, cigarmaker A.J. Fernandez can add one more to his list. Earlier this month, Forged Cigar Co. released the El Rey del Mundo by AJ, a limited-edition, Nicaraguan-heavy interpretation of this heritage Cuban brand. Produced in Estelí, Nicaragua at Fernandez’s factory, the new El Rey del Mundo consists almost entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco save for the Connecticut broadleaf binder. According to the company, this will be more full-bodied than typical El Rey del Mundos, which are made in Honduras.
