Willy Herrera, Drew Estate’s master blender, seemingly appeared on the cigar scene out of know where. While few people had heard of him (or his family’s Miami cigar factory El Titan de Bronze), there was a buzz on Calle Ocho about his talents and the cigars being blended and crafted at the small, storefront factory. When Drew Estate made the announcement that Willy had joined the team, many people were shocked. Who was this guy from Miami that was taking over the creation of new products for Drew? Could he do it? Would the cigars be any good? Lots of questions swirled about the company’s future prospects. While it took Herrera some time to get his bearings, his blends quickly put any doubts to rest.
The Herrera Esteli Miami was created by Willy Herrera to showcase his roots in the Miami made cigar scene. They’re made under the skillful eye of his cousin Sandy who owns Little Havana’s El Titan de Bronze cigar factory in Miami, FL. This is where Willy developed his blending and rolling skills, but more importantly, it is one of the few remaining cigar factories in the area. Herrera personally selected each tobacco component for this cigar and spent over 2 years blending and re-blending it until he got it right. These cigars use filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and a beautiful Ecuador Habano wrapper. Tasting notes include flavors of espresso, cedar, and earth along with hints of sweet cream, baking spices, and pepper. Herrera Esteli Miami is a dynamite blend with excellent flavors and construction.
