There’s something exciting about watching a young cigar company hustle. They’ve got the vision and the drive; they usually have some angle to work; and hopefully they have the tobaccos and cigars to back it all up. Luckily for Reinier Lorenzo he did. In 2011 he founded HVC as a way of paying homage to Havana City where he lived for most of his life. He was inspired by his upbringing to keep the Cuban tradition of hand-made cigars alive and well. His focus is mainly on outstanding, small-crop Nicaraguan tobaccos that remind him of home. Each cigar in the HVC portfolio is a unique experience that in some way or another pays homage to his hometown. We jumped on the HVC band wagon early on, and it has been a pleasure to watch this outstanding upstart company gain traction and attention.
Introducing the latest and greatest special from one of the hottest boutique brands out today: HVC Cigars! Master blender Reiner Lorenzo is back in the spotlight again featuring one of his best offerings using tobacco only from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua, giving it unique flavor you won't find anywhere else. San Isidro is a medium-bodied offering that HVC claims as their most cuban-esque offering. This mysterious release features a medium-brown Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that contains a proprietary binder and filler from Aganorsa Leaf that isn't used in any other cigar in the world. That's right- Reinier Lorenzo singlehandedly had this tobacco made specifically for this vitola! Although potent, these proprietary tobaccos aren't overpowering, and provide a warm, nutty flavor profile with an earthy, smooth finish. If you're an HVC fan, or lover of boutique flavor profiles, you're going to love it!
