Warped Cigars is another tale of the boutique cigar company that could. Launched in 2009, the brand was founded by then 29 year old Kyle Gellis, making him one of the youngest cigar brand owners around. He had a string of early hits like La Colmena and Futuro that helped cement his place in the industry. He does not own a factory, but partners with select manufacturers to produce his brands. The factories he works with the most are El Titan de Bronze in Miami and Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua. Both factories are able to create the boutique, quality cigars that are Gellis’ focus. Only producing a total of 115,000 to 200,000 cigars per year, Warped places a focus on quality rather than quantity.
The Warped Eagle's Descent was originally released as a retailer exclusive in 2019 for R Field Wine Company in Honolulu, Hawaii. The blend has now returned as a limited edition for all Warped retailers around the world. The Toro Especial as it is now called features components that are true to the original blend, being full bodied and full strength. We wanted to offer a difference from the original release. We reworked the Viso and Seco within the blend leaning more toward Jalapa, to offer undertones of more sweetness to play with the rich dense power of Esteli Ligero. Rolled at Aganorsa Leaf in Esteli, this Nicaraguan puro comes in boxes of 25 and limited to only 1,500 boxes before the size retires for good.
